Dal Palak
Serves: 2-3 persons
Ingredients:
- 2 cups finley chopped spinach
- ⅓ cup Moong daal
- 4 garlic cloves chopped
- 1 inch ginger chopped
- 2 tablespoon oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2 dry red chillies
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- Pinch of asafoetida
- 5-6 curry leaves
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro

Method:
- Wash and rinse yellow moong dal. Add enough water to dal and cook in a pressure cooker.
- Heat a tablespoon oil in a pan. Add 2 chopped garlic cloves and chopped ginger . Add chopped spinach leaves. Stir continiously until spinach gets cooked.
- Add cooked dal to the pan and mix. Add salt to taste. Let the mixture boil properly. If you need thin dal then add water accordingly.
- Heat a tablespoon oil in a different pan. Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, garlic cloves,curry leaves,turmeric powder,red chilli powder,and dry red chillies. Let it sizzle. Pour the seasoning over dal and mix it. Garnish with chopped cilantro.
- Serve hot with rice or roti.
